It's known as a cut tack because to produce it, it gets cut from a sheet of steel. Cut Tacks are a favorite fastener used by boat builders, woodworkers, crafters, upholsterers and carpet installers. Also known as Flat Head Tacks, they feature a sharp point, tapered body and an angular cut shank to resist pull-out.
